Salary Limit: A minimum salary of QAR 5000 (USD 1363) per month is required by the applicant to qualify for a sponsorship.
Documents: Make sure you have the following documents:
- Qatari ID and its copy

- Contract Copy
- Copy of your employer’s commercial registration
Proof of Relationship: You also need to provide proof that tells that you are the parent/spouse of the said visitor:

2: Other Relatives Sponsorship
Salary Limit: To sponsor another family, you may need more than your family’s requirements, which is a minimum salary of QAR 10000 (USD 2762) per month.
Documents: You need to provide:
- Birth and marriage certificates
- Copy of your spouse’s Qatari ID if they are in Qatar with you.
Medical Test: Every visitor needs to be tested for various diseases like HIV, hepatitis B/C, and tuberculosis before applying and the visitor may be rejected if any of these tests are positive so doing the tests first is important so that you don’t have to put in extra work.
Age Restriction: Only people under the age of 60 years for applicants can apply for the family visit visa in Qatar.
Methods to apply for a Visit Visa in Qatar
Applying for Family Visit Visa in Qatar – Online Method
Metrash2 app is the main online hub of the government services in Qatar and you can even use this app to apply for a family visit visa. You can read the following guide to apply for a visit visa:
Step 1: Metrash2 App: Download the app, it is available on both Android and iOS smartphone users.
Step 2: Setting up Your Account: Select your preferred language and sign up a new account if you don’t already have one.
Step 3: Visa Page: Now look for the “Visa” option on the main interface of the app and tap on it to contain services related to visas.
Step 4: Issue Visa: Now you can click on “Issue Visa” from the different options.
Step 5: Family Visit Visa: Now carefully choose “Family Visa Application” and not the “Family Resident Application” if you want to make sure you are only inviting your family to visit and then click on “New Application” which will open a new fresh application form.
Step 6: Visitor’s Information: Now you need to provide the following details of the visitor:
- Full Legal Name
- Date of Birth
- Nationality
- Passport Number
- Relationship
- Gender
Step 7: Verify Information: Tap on the “Validate” button to ensure that you have entered all the correct details.
Step 8: Uploading Documents: Pictures or clear scans of documents are also needed to complete the process such as:
- Passport
- Birth/Marriage certificate
Step 9: Waiting for Approval: The approval can take a few days to complete and if there is any issue then you can solve it before the process is completed.
Step 10: Visit Visa Fees: After the verification is done then you can continue the process and pay the fees through the “Visa Fees” option in the “Visa” section of the app.

Applying for Family Visit Visa in Qatar – Offline Method
If you want to apply without the use of the Metrash2 application, then you can do so by following these steps:
Step 1: Downloading the Form: First you need to print out the Application Form and ensure to fill it out with only black ink.
Step 2: Filling the Form: Ensure that you fill out the form carefully; otherwise, you need to print it out again.
Step 3: MOI Service Center: Now go to your nearest MOI Service Center. You can find it through any map application.
Step 4: Submit Documents: Go to the counter and ask that you need to apply for the Family Visit Visa Application and you have filled out the form.
Step 5: Visa Interview: You will be asked to give a brief interview about the visit and your relationship.
Step 6: Receipt: After everything is completed, you will receive an official receipt that will tell you where to check your visa status online after 2 working days.
Step 7: Check Status: After 2 working days, you can look online through the MOI visa website to see if your application is accepted or rejected.
Step 8: Paying Fees: If your application is accepted then you can pay your fees online or offline.
Step 9: Visa: Now, you can visit the center again to get your visa, or you can print it out through the Metrash2 app.
Qatar Family Visit Visa Validity
You can apply only for a 30-day visa, but you can extend it for another 60 days if they want to stay for a longer period of time. With this your relatives need to undergo a medical checkup again.
